The Lucea Police in the parish of Hanover say they have laid criminal charges against a man who shot and injured a Life Guard in the community of Lucea in Hanover on Wednesday morning of June 6th.
The police have pointed out that the name of the accused man is being withheld pending further investigations. He has been charged with shooting with Intent and illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
Our news team has learnt that, the 27 year old, victim is present still being treated in stable condition at the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea. Reports by the Lucea police are that, the Life Guard who resides at a section of Haughton Meadows in Lucea known as Hog Bush, was at his place of work on Tuesday night when he received a telephone call that the accused was seen attempting to break into his house.
He reached home about 9:00am, on Wednesday morning and discovered that several blades of one of the windows to his house were broken out. He then walked to the accused man home and was making complain to his mother when he attacked him.
The wounded life guard further stated that he ran to avoid being killed by his attacker and locked himself in a nearby house. The accused gave chase and, upon reaching the house, he reportedly brandished a handgun and shot the Life Guard through a window.
He then fled the community and went to a section of Green Island. The police were summoned and the wounded man rushed to hospital where he was treated and admitted.
