Man Charged For Stabbing Other Man to Death in Priory, St Ann

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: The St Ann police say they have now laid criminal charges, against a man who was taken into custody by the police, in connection with the stabbing death of another man at a bar in Priory district, St Ann, on Saturday, June 29.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Shavaughn Atkinson, labourer of Middle Street, also in Priory, but Investigators have not yet released the name of the accused who has been charged.

Reports by the St Ann police are that, about 1:20 a.m., Atkinson and a group of men were at a bar located along Priory main road, when he got involved in an argument with another man.

The accused brandished a knife, which he used to inflict multiple stab wounds to Atkinson’s body. The wounded man was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation by the police, the accused was taken into custody.
