Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Denham Town police have reported that criminal charges have now been officially laid against a man who stabbed a female to death, during an altercation which occurred along a section of Orange Street, in downtown Kingston, on Friday, March 15.

A police source told our news team that the name of the accused will be released at a later date, but he was charged with the murder of 32-year-old, Shawna Eddie of Norman Lane, in Kingston 11.

Reports by the Denham Town police are that about 9:20 a.m. on Friday, Eddie and the accused got involved in a dispute along a section of Orange Street, when he reportedly used a knife to stab her multiple times to the regions of her upper body.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Eddie was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation by the police, the accused man was taken into custody in connection with the murder.
