Man Charged Following $22 Million Armoured Truck Robbery in Rollington Town

Officers from the Rollington Town Police Station arrested and charged a man following a multi-million dollar heist in Rollington Town, Kingston 3, on Wednesday, June 8.

37-year-old Omeal Richards, otherwise called ‘Kill Quick’, of Bray Street in Kingston 16, has been charged with Robbery with Aggravation, Conspiracy to Robbery with Aggravation, Illegal Possession of Firearm, and Receiving Stolen Property.

According to reports, about 12:10 p.m., employees of a security company were escorting money along Jackson Road in the parish when their vehicle developed mechanical problems. While they were repairing the vehicle, a car pulled up beside them, and Richards and another man armed with guns alighted.

Employees fled in various directions, leaving the armored truck behind. The assailants were able to flee with approximately 22 million JMD.

Richards was arrested on Friday, June 17, 2022, and later gave a caution statement to the police. He was later charged following a question-and-answer session with his attorney.
