Man Caught with Illegal Gun on Taxi in Clarendon

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: One man was arrested in connection with the seizure of an M&P semi-automatic pistol loaded with eighteen live 9mm rounds in Thompson Town,  Clarendon on Tuesday,  August 14.

The identity of the accused is been withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the May Pen police are that about 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, a team of officers were carrying out vehicular spot checks along a section of the Thompson Town main road when they signaled the driver of a taxi motor car to stop.

The driver complied and the vehicle along with all five occupants was searched.

During the search, the accused who was a passenger on board the vehicle was found to be carrying a black plastic bag.

A search of the bag resulted in the discovery of the illegal weapon.
