Man Caught with Illegal Firearm in Central Village

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: A man who was caught in possession of an illegal firearm in Central Village, St Catherine on Wednesday evening, October 17,  has subsequently been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

The accused has been identified as 27-year-old Ricardo Linton of Big Lane, also in Central Village.

Reports by the Central Village police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the police carried out an operation in Big Lane where Linton was seen.

He was searched and the illegal weapon, a Beretta 9mm semi-automatic pistol, was found on his person.

The accused is booked to appear in the Corporate Area Gun Court at a later date.
