Man Caught with Illegal Firearm in Alman Town

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A 33-year-old man who was held with an illegal firearm in Kingston on Sunday morning, February 3,  was arrested and charged for breaches of the firearms act.

Facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Demar Williams otherwise called “Den Den” laborer of Wild Street in Alman Town.

Reports by the police are that about 1:30 a.m., a team of officers were carrying out patrols at a section of Alman Town, when Williams was seen and a search carried out of his person.

The search resulted in the seizure of an EKOL Firat magnum revolver, fitted with a magazine containing four 9-mm rounds.

Williams was taken into custody and subsequently charged,  he is booked to appear in the Gun Court on Friday, February 8.
