Man Attempting to Import Illegal Firearms in Bags of Flour, to Appear in Home Circuit Court Tomorrow

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A man who was recently arrested and charged after he was caught attempting to import several illegal firearms, and over 200 assorted rounds of ammunition into the country, is scheduled to appear in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston, on Wednesday morning, May 15.

The accused who has been identified as a 46-year-old Ardeen Moore, a computer technician of Maryland in the USA and Kingston, Jamaica, is facing charges of Illegal Importation of firearms, Illegal Importation of Ammunition and Concealment of goods.

Reports are that on Tuesday, April 30, custom security were checking several barrels at a Wharf in Kingston, when they noticed irregularities in a number of bags containing flour, which were placed inside the barrels.

Search of the flour led to the discovery of, one Taurus .45 pistol, one Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol, one Glock 17-9mm pistol, One hundred and fifty 9mm rounds, Fifty .45 rounds and Six pistol magazines.

Moore was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
