Man Arrested after Police Finds Gun in Garbage

St Andrew, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Gun in Garbage: a St Andrew man who is believed to have dropped an illegal firearm in a rubbish heap upon seeing the police approach was taken into custody and is now behind bars and awaiting to be slapped with illegal charges.

The police say, a Glock 27 semi-automatic pistol loaded with six (6) live 9mm rounds was seized.

Reports by the police in the parish of St Andrew are that shortly after 4:30 am., on Saturday, February 17, the police got reports that gunshots were heard coming from a section of Cedar Valley Road in Matilda Corner.

Upon reaching the location, the police came upon the accused who was allegedly seen dropping an object in the rubbish heap.

A search of the rubbish heap led to the seizure of the illegal firearm hidden beneath the trash.

The accused was taken into custody.
