Man Arrested Following Firearm and Ammunition Handed over to Police in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One man was arrested in connection with an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition which were handed over to the police along Terrence Avenue in Kingston 10, on Thursday, August 16.

The name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Half Way Tree  Police are that about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, a team of officers were summoned to a location along Terrence Avenue.

On reaching the location, a group of residents handed a Beretta 9mm semi-automatic pistol and eleven live rounds of ammunition over to the police.

The angry residents also pointed out the accused to the lawmen and informed them that earlier that morning, he had an argument with another man and pulled the illegal weapon on them.

He was confronted by the group and threw the firearm on the top of a roof. The weapon was retrieved and later handed over to the lawmen.
