Man Arrested And Charged With Double Murder In Clarendon

Jamaica News: One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the Sunday, September 22, shooting death of two men along Chapelton Road in Clarendon.


He has been identified as 25-year-old Demar Powell, of Smithville district.

Reports by the police are that about 11:30 p.m., Powell and another man allegedly ambushed the two men while they were along Chapelton Road, and shot them multiple times.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the victims were rushed to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Powell was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

The other gunman is presently still being sought by the police.
