Jamaica News, St Ann: The St Ann police have confirmed that a teenage boy and a female lost their lives in a freak accident which occurred along a section of St Ann leg of the Edward Seaga Highway, shortly after 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 26.
The police also confirmed that another passenger who was travelling in the said ill-fated vehicle is presently still at hospital in serious condition.
Those killed have been identified as 19-year-old Vivian Blake of Quarry Hill, Spanish Town and Ranea Duncan of Westchester Road in St Catherine.
Reports by the St Ann police are that shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Blake was driving a silver Honda Fit motor car along a section of the Edward Seaga Highway with Duncan and the other victims on board.
The vehicle was travelling in wet slippery conditions and upon reaching a section of the Highway, Blake lost control of the vehicle, which skidded across the roadway and crashed underneath the rear end of a Leland truck.
All three occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital where Blake and Duncan were pronounced dead, and the other passenger admitted.
Fire Fighters and police personnel were alerted to the scene and upon their arrival, it took them some time to clear that section of the highway.
Also, the crash resulted in a massive traffic pile-up and dozens of motorist were delayed on their journey.
