Investigators attached to the Negril police station have commenced an investigation surrounding the shooting death of a man in Good Hope community, on Tuesday, April 13.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Julian Jackson, otherwise called ‘Lug’, also of Good Hope district, in the parish.
Reports by the Negril police are that about 12:00 pm, residents noticed Jackson’s car parked along a section of the Good Hope main road.
He then reportedly walked from his vehicle and made his way towards a Silver Axio motor car, which was parked on the opposite side of the road.
Jackson was seen handing a bag to the occupants of the car, followed by which one of the men opened fire hitting him multiple times.
Jackson ran into a nearby yard, but he was chased by the men who again opened fire hitting him, and he collapsed inside the yard.
The men drove away from the location, while the police were summoned by residents. Upon arrival of the lawmen, the wounded man was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
