Jamaica News, March 8, 2018 – Female District Constable Chopped
Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A woman District Constable stationed at the Lucea police station in Hanover, was transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital on Wednesday afternoon and treated, following an incident where she was chopped with a machete by another woman who is alleged to be of unsound mind.
Our news team learnt that despite the chop wound being inflicted on her arm, the female cop had to receive immediate treatment and stitches at the hospital.
The Lucea police reported that on Wednesday, the Woman District Constable was part of a team of police officers who responded to a report of an incident taking place at a section of the community. The officers had just reached the area, when the female cop was attacked by the woman who is said to be of unsound mind.
It is further reported that the woman used a machete to chop at the officer, one of which caught her on her arm.
The accused woman was held and taken into custody while the wounded officer was rushed to hospital where she was treated.
The police say they will now have to wait for a psychiatric evaluation to determine what’s steps to take against the accused.
