Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Hunts Bay police say they are now in search of a man who managed to elude the police leaving behind a firearm, after challenging them in a shootout, in St Andrew, on Tuesday night.

Reports by the police are that about 8:00 p.m., a team of officers were on patrol in Ward Avenue, Kingston 23, when they saw the man walking along the roadway.

Upon seeing the police approaching, the man brandished a handgun and fired at the police. The fire was returned and the gunman dropped his weapon, and ran from the scene.

A search of the area led to the seizure of a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with four rounds of ammunition.
