Lloyd McLaughlin: Farmer Shot and Killed in St James

The Freeport police in Montego Bay, St James have now commenced a full investigation surrounding the shooting death of a farmer in the parish on Monday night of June 11th.

The deceased has been identified as, Lloyd McLaughlin, 49-year-old, a farmer of Sign Irwin.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 8:20 pm, on Monday, McLaughlin was riding a bicycle along the Sign Irwin main road when he was approached by two men travelling on a motorcycle.

The men brandished handguns and shot McLaughlin from his bicycle before escaping in the motorcycle.  The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and McLaughlin was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
