Business News: Legal Marijuana Store launched in Montego Bay – The first licensed cannabis, seed-to-sale medical marijuana store, Epican launched the opening of their second location in Montego Bay on Jimmy Cliff Blvd last Thursday. The first location opened in Kingston in 2015, with the goal to Educate, Medicate and Elevate, operates under the Cannabis Licensed Authority and are able to legally produce, distribute and sells a variety of strains, oils, sublingual, vaporizers, etc.
Hosted by radio personality, Ron Muschette, who exclaimed, how unfortunate for person’s who passed as a result of the herb, like Mario Dean and rastas in the Coral Garden Massacre but also proud of those who held up the mantle Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Bob Marley, all others and Epican.
Owned by brothers, Dwayne McKenzie, President and Karibe McKenzie CEO of Epican, who are enthusiast and pioneers in the industry, decided to expand their reach to the Tourist capital at a strategic location, on Jimmy Cliff Blvd., Montego Bay. Dwayne Mckenzie, who first spoke at the launch, expressed that, ‘Epican is here to represent and move towards future health, and growth of our culture.’
He further mentioned, the positive of Sangsters intl. Airport expansions and the negative of the challenges Montego Bay may have. He urged us all that, “good can overcome, with continued investment and support. Also that Epican is adding energy to the space of Montego Bay.” He further went to extend membership to Epican by way of mouth to the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce.
‘Integrated brand’ for farm extractions and they will ‘Play by the Rules.’
The launched was made even more exciting when Hon. Floyd Green, MP, Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries also spoke. He commented that Epican has created a scope for more research. He also mentioned that the government is focusing on the Cannabis industry with key points:1) on a robust local medicinal man, 2) Cannabis License Authority infusing research and 3)strengthening the framework with the director of operations. He reinforced that Jamaica is well known for our expertise in growing cannabis and shared that farmers in Acommpong, are now able to integrate into the medicinal cannabis industry. He ended by urging others to invest in the legal cannabis industry.
All speakers then gather to cut the ribbon to the launch of Epican, Montego Bay.
