Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Knife Robber Shot Dead – A man who reportedly attacked members of a police party with a knife, during a robbery attempt in downtown Kingston, on Sunday, April 14, was fatally shot by one of the officers.
The dead robber has been identified as 24-year-old Tajay Brown of no fixed address.
Reports by the police are that, shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, a team of officers were on patrol in downtown Kingston, when they got a report that a robbery was in progress along Duke Street.
The police responded and upon their arrival to the area, they saw three men, two of whom ran. The other man was approached by the lawmen and he attacked the police with a knife and he was shot.
A search of the area led to the arrest of another of the robbers who had fled the scene earlier. An illegal firearm was said to have been taken from him by the police.
Brown was later rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
