Latest Jamaica News, Kingston: Detectives attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) have arrested and charged one woman, while she was attempting to collect her dead mother’s pension, with the use of forged documents.

Facing charges of forgery, uttering forged documents, and obtaining money by means of false pretence, is 54-year-old Janet Jarrett, of Hill Side Crescent in Kingston.

Reports are that on Monday, January 21, Jarrett went to the Accountant General Department, to update the banking information of her mother Hermine Brighton, to facilitate the collection of her pension.

The clerk got suspicious of her documents, who later alerted the police. An investigation was carried out and it was discovered that Jarrett’s mother had died from 2016.

She was recently arrested and charged, and is scheduled to appear in the St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, July 30.
