Kingston Truck Driver Dies in Freak Accident

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: 56-year-old Jaisingh Jones, of Hopedale Avenue, Kingston 6, died as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident,  which occurred along a section of the Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston on Monday,  August 20.

Reports by the Denham Town Police are that about 7:40 p.m. on Monday, the driver of a Leland truck was traveling along a section of Marcus Garvey Drive.

On reaching a section of the roadway, the vehicle developed mechanical problems and broke down.

The driver alighted from the truck and started to look for an object to use as a caution sign to motorist, to indicate that the truck had broken down.

He noticed a motor car which was being driven by Jones, traveling towards him.

He was in the process of indicating to the driver that the truck had broken down when the vehicle crashed into the rear of the truck.

Jones got pinned in the vehicle and the truck driver sought the assistant of other motorist and the police.

The wounded driver was later transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
