Kingston Ship Terminal Attendant Charged for Cocaine

Latest Jamaica News, Kingston: One of the four Stevedores (ship terminal attendant) who were arrested following the seizure of 10.2kgs of cocaine on a vessel at the Kingston terminal, on Sunday, July 28, has been slapped with charges.

Facing charges of Dealing in cocaine, possession of cocaine and conspiracy to import cocaine, is 44-year-old Shawn Taylor, of a Kingston 14 address.

Taylor is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, August 7.

Reports are that on Sunday, Taylor and four other stevedores were unloading cargo from a vessel which arrived at the terminal, from Colombia.

He was searched and found in possession of a quantity of cocaine. A further search of the vessel led to the discovery of more cocaine, which was hidden underneath a spare anchor.
