Kingston: Police Seized One Firearm after Shooting Death on Henderson Avenue

Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Police Seized One Firearm: Quick action by a Police Officer resulted in the seizure of a firearm and the detaining of one man, following a shooting death on Henderson Avenue, Kingston 11 on Saturday, January 20.

The dead man has not yet been identified.

Information garnered from the Olympic Gardens Police are that about 7:45 p.m., explosions were heard coming from a motor vehicle that was travelling along Henderson Avenue. The vehicle subsequently crashed into a utility pole. Shortly after, a man was allegedly seen exiting the vehicle with a firearm in his hand. He reportedly attempted to flee the scene when he was accosted by a Police Officer. He was held and a Browning pistol, with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition was taken from him.

Both injured males were taken to hospital where the unidentified male was pronounced dead and the other admitted under Police guard.

Lawmen are appealing to anyone with additional information that can assist the Police with their investigations to contact the Olympic Gardens Police at 923-5468, Crime Stop at 311, Police 119 emergency number, by using the Stay Alert App or the nearest Police Station.
