Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, which was seized in Kingston 13, on Wednesday, January 23.
Facing charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition are 21-year-old Michael Junior Jackson, unemployed of Union Avenue and 38-year-old Dennis Errol Ellington, laborer of Fiddles Road, both in Kingston 13.
Reports by the Hunts Bay Police are that about 9:23 p.m. on Wednesday, a team of officers were on Patrol duties along a section of Coral Lane main road, when they saw both men acting in a suspicious manner.
They were accosted and searched, and found to be carrying a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing twelve live rounds.
Both men were placed under arrest and subsequently charged.
They are booked to appear before the Gun Court at a later date.
