Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Matilda’s Corner police have reported that a man was taken into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Kingston 6, on Friday, April 5, has now been officially charged.
One police source told our news team that, they are unable to release the identity of the accused at this time, as he may be placed before an identification parade.
Reports by the Matildas Corner police are that about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, a team of officers were on patrol in Cedar Valley when they observe a man running towards a house.
The man ran and threw an object into the house, and he was chased and accosted. The house was searched and the police seized a 9mm Beretta semi-automatic pistol, fitted with a magazine containing ten live 9mm rounds.
The accused was taken into custody and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
