Kingston Man Charged for Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Matilda’s Corner police on Thursday, December 20, arrested and charged a man for Breaches of the Firearm Act, along Barbican Road.

The accused has been identified as 32-year-old Kemar Blair, unemployed of Cedar Valley Road in Kingston 6.

Reports by the police are that about 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties along a section of Barbican Road, when they observe Blair acting in a suspicious manner.

The accused man was held and searched, a Ruger 9mm , semi-automatic pistol, fitted with a magazine containing six live 9mm rounds, taken from him.

Blair was taken into custody and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
