Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A 46-year-old Hearse driver and a 17-year-old teenage boy were shot and killed, while an infant and a female were shot and injured, as gunmen ambushed and shot up a group of mourners who were preparing to attend a funeral in Kingston on Sunday, May 27.
Dead are, Michael Bent, Hearse driver of a Kingston 10 address and Dontae Jackson, of Wint Road, Kingston 20.
In the meanwhile, a 2-year-old child and a 23-year-old female who were also shot and injured during the attack still remain at hospital in serious condition.
The Half Way Tree Police have reported that shortly after 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, residents living at a section off Waltham Park Road in Kingston known as 77 Lane were gathering to attend a funeral proceeding which was being held elsewhere.
Minutes later, the crowd was attacked by a group of heavily armed men who opened fire hitting all four victims.
The Half Way Tree Police were summoned and upon arrival, Jackson, Bent and the other two victims were rushed to hospital where Bent and the teenage boy were pronounced dead. The infant and the female were admitted.
