Jamaica Crime News: Kartel Shot and Killed by Police Impersonators in St. James – One man was shot and killed, and another man shot and seriously wounded, by a group of heavily armed men, dressed as police officers in Salt Spring, St James on Saturday morning, February 2nd.
The dead man has been identified so far only as ” Kartel”, and is believed to be in his mid-thirties, while the identity of the injured man is being withheld pending further investigation.
Reports by the Montego Hills police are that about 1:00 a.m., on Saturday, the man is known as Kartel and the other victim, were at a house in Salt Spring when a group of heavily armed men kicked open the door to the house.
The gunmen who were said to have been dressed in helmets and denim, open fire hitting both men multiple times, before leaving the scene.
Residents in the area alerted the police and upon their arrival, both wounded men were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where the man known as Kartel was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
