Jamaica News, Kingston: Minister without portfolio in the office of the Prime Minister, Karl Samuda has now been given the task to oversee the position as Minister in the Ministry of Education, Information and Youth.
Mr. Samuda’s promotion came about on Wednesday, March 20, immediately following the announcement that the Minister of Education, Ruel Reid who is involved in a corruption scandal, has been asked to tender his registration by the Prime minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness.

The Prime has announced that Mr. Samuda will oversee the position temporarily, while his office will undertake a review of the ministry of education.
