Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Bus fare increase: the Jamaica Urban Transit Company’s (JUTC’s) planned fare increase for its premium express service has been postponed.
The increase was scheduled to come into effect on Monday, January 1, 2018, however, according to Paul Abrahams, JUTC’s Managing Director, the postponement will be until a review is conducted at the end of March.
Cecil Thomas, Corporate Communications Manager at the JUTC, stated that the decision to postpone the fare hike was as a result of the company not wanting to pressure consumers at this time.
