Latest Jamaica News: The Jamaica Teachers Association has condemned the recent killing of a Bishop Gibson High School teacher, who was shot and killed by gunmen at her home in Melrose News district, Manchester, on Tuesday night. July 9.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Carolyn Davis Campbell, of the same community.
Following Campbell’s death, several teachers have come forward, and are now questioning the circumstances surrounding her death, some are of the belief that teachers are now under attack.
Reports by the police are that about 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, two armed men forced their way inside the teacher’s home, while she was in bed with her husband.
It is further reported that the gunmen demanded money and when their demands were not met, they opened fire hitting Davis Campbell multiple times to her upper body.
Her husband who residents say, ran from the house, escaped unhurt.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Davis-Campbell was discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
