JLP Councillor Almost Shot to Death by Armed Gunman in St. James

Well known Jamaica Labour Party Councilor, for the Somerton Division, Mark McGann, was nearly shot and killed by a lone gunman, in Montego Hills, St James, on Saturday night, May 25.

Reports by the police are that about 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, Councillor McGann drove to a section of Montego Hills community to drop off a Junior Councillor.

He was in the process of heading back downtown, when a man armed with a rifle jumped from behind some bushes, and opened fire at his vehicle

Mr. McGann managed to speed away, but the gunman fired several shots, which damaged sections of the car.

The Councillor managed to escape without being shot, and he drove to the police station and reported the incident.
