Jamaica News, April 10, 2018 – JDF Soldier Shot
St James, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Several teams attached to the Jamaica Defence Force and the Jamaican Constabulary Force have now been deployed in the Retirement area of St James, in search of a lone gunman who reportedly shot and wounded a JDF soldier in the area, on Monday night, April 9.
Our news team has learnt that the JDF soldier who is attached to the Third Battalion, is also a popular Guidance Counselor at a prominent high School in St James.
Reports are that shortly after 8:50 p.m. on Monday, the JDF Soldier who resides in the Retirement Community, drove home in his Subaru Impreza motor car, parked the vehicle and was walking toward his house, when he was ambushed by a lone gunman.
The gunman opened fire hitting the soldier to the lower section of his body, but the victim who is also a licensed firearm holder pulled his licensed firearm and challenged the gunman.
The gunman made good his escape on foot in the area while the wounded soldier raised an alarm, and he was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was treated and admitted.
The police and the military have now join forces in the area to flush out criminals.
