JDF Soldier Convicted on Cocaine Charges

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: JDF Soldier Convicted A Jamaica Defence soldier was convicted for breaches of the dangerous drug act, when he appeared in the St Andrew Parish Court on a Thursday, March 21.

The accused 33-year-old, Lance Corporal, Sedon Maxwell of a Jeffery Town, St Mary, address.

Reports are that about 4:45 p.m. on June 18, 2017, Maxwell was arrested by officers attached to the narcotics division, at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, when he was found with the cocaine while attempting to board an Air Canada flight, destined for Toronto, Canada.

He was subsequently slapped with charges.

Upon his appearance in court on Thursday, Maxwell was found guilty on charges of possession of cocaine. He was ordered to pay $800,000 or serve four months in prison.

For the charge of attempting to export cocaine, he was fined $900,000 or serve four months at hard labor.
