Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: A member of the Jamaican Defense Force and his wife were taken into custody on drug-related charges on Friday morning, following the seizure of a large quantity of ganja and amount of cash which were seized at their home in St Catherine.
The police have reported that, between 12:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., the Narcotic Police carried out an operation at a house in Greater Portmore which was occupied by the couple.
During the operation, compressed and loose ganja weighing approximately 651 pounds was seized.
Also, cash amounting to JA $265,000, a licensed firearm and two motor vehicles were seized.
One investigator told our news team that, the couple has been under the police radar for some time now and it is believed that they are major players in the drug trade.
Also, it is believed that the cash seized are proceedings from the drug sales.
