Jamaica News, February 27, 2018 – JDF Civilian Worker Dies
Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – One of two civilian workers assigned to the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) died at the hospital from injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident, which occurred along a section of the Old Harbour main road in St Catherine on Monday afternoon, February 27.
He has been identified as Omar Malcolm, a Mechanical Engineer who was employed by the JDF Workshop Department.
Reports are that shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 26, Malcolm and another Civilian worker who is also employed to the JDF Workshop Department were test driving a JDF service Jeep 10 JDF 214 on route for the Old Harbor main road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, Malcolm lost control of the vehicle which collided with a Honda Fit motor car.
Malcolm along with his coworker and the driver of the Honda motor car were all rushed to the hospital. Malcolm died whilst undergoing treatment and the other two casualties were treated and admitted.
