Jamaica (McKoy’s News) –  Jamaica’s Murder Rate Reaches 141 in June: The murder toll for the period June 1 to June 27 is 141; this is the highest figure since the May 2010 Tivoli Gardens Operations.

A total of 136 people were killed last month.

As of two days ago, 712 people were murdered in Jamaica since the start of the year, compared to 593 during the corresponding period last year.

This represents an increase of 119 or 20.1 percent.

The tourism hub of St James continues to puzzle the minds of the Police High Command in the parish, which has recorded 138 murders so far this year, followed by the St Catherine North Division with 70, Westmoreland with 68 followed by Clarendon with 65 murders.
