Jamaica News: The Jamaica Tallawahs are sitting pretty atop the Caribbean Premier League standings on 6 points, after beating the St.Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 47 runs at Sabina Park on Wednesday.
The victory was the third in a row for the Tallawahs and was highlighted by Ross Taylor’s attacking knock of 51 from 35 balls, which included two fours and four sixes.
Opener Kennar Lewis made 49 from 24 balls, Wicketkeeper Glenn Phillips contributed 41, Rovman Powell 18 and Captain Andre Russell was not out on 10, as the Tallawahs made 178 for 4 from their 20 overs, after being asked to bat.
Sandeep Lamichhane 2/21, was the best of the bowlers.
The Patriots were restricted to 131 for 9, thanks to some good bowling from Krishmar Santokie 2/13, Imad Wasim 2/21 and Adam Zampa 2/38.
Chris Gayle’s knock of 24 from 25 balls, included one four and three sixes. Mahmudullah blasted 22 from 15 balls and Sheldon Cottrell made 18.
The Jamaica Tallawahs who are on 6 points from 3 matches, will next play second place the Guyana Amazon Warriors, 4 points, on Saturday at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, in Lauderhill, Florida.
