Latest Jamaica News, Kingston: Investigators from the St Andrew Police and the Fire department are presently searching for clues to determine the cause of the fire, which destroyed a warehouse along Lynhurst Road on Tuesday, July 16, resulting in millions of dollars in damages.
The police reported that the fire was seen coming from a section of the building about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, and it quickly engulfed the building.
On the arrival of the firefighters, they were able to rescue one man who was trapped inside the warehouse.
A thick blanket of smoke spread all over the area, making it difficult for the firemen to fight the blaze effectively, and it took them almost the entire day to extinguished the blaze.
Up to news time, the origin of the fire was not yet known, nor was an estimate in damages, but one police source told our news team that so far what they are seeing will run into several millions of dollars.
