Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Detectives attached to INDECOM, Kingston branch are now probing the fatal shooting of an unidentified man,  who allegedly challenged members of a police patrol in a shootout in Kingston 11, on Tuesday night, September 25.

Reports by the police are that about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday,  a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties along a section of Caladium Crescent when they saw the unidentified male.

He was approached, and upon seeing the lawmen, he opened gunfire and challenged them in a shootout.

The police returned the fire and the man was fatally shot.

A Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic pistol, loaded with eleven live 9mm rounds, was taken from the alleged gunman.
