St James: 142 Illegal Firearms and over 4000 Rounds Of Ammunition Seized in 2017

St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 142 Illegal Firearms and over 4000 Rounds Of Ammunition Seized: The Area One police have reported that since the start of the year 2017, they have seized a total of 142 illegal firearms and over 4000 rounds of assorted ammunition in the parish of St James.

The police also added that these seizures are the largest in the parish in such a short period over the past years. More than 40 of these illegal firearms were seized in various operations between September and November.

The police also stated that this  has  been the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s most successful period in the entire island of Jamaica  in recent
years.

Over 30 men have been taken into custody in connection with these seizures, and more than 20 have since been slapped with charges of Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and also shooting with intent.
