Illegal Firearm Seized in St Andrew

Jamaica Crime News, St Andrew: An alleged gunman was taken into custody and an illegal firearm taken from during an alleged confrontation with the police in Olympic Gardens, St Andrew, on Saturday morning, April 21.

Reports are that, approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, a team of police officers attached to the Olympic Gardens Police Station carried out an operation in the area.

The lawmen further stated that, upon entering a premises, they were challenged by a group of gunmen who were on the inside of the building. The fire was returned and during the exchange of gunfire one of the men was shot and injured.

The other gunmen escape in the area on foot while the police recovered a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
