Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Kingston police have reported that, the man who is accused of chopping his wife, Mellissia Edwards-Whyte, District Constable attached to Crime Stop at the Commissioner Office, to death on Saturday night, September 29, turned himself over to the police on Tuesday morning, October 2.
The accused husband 53-year-old Barry White, otherwise called, “Barry or Drops” of Farmbrook Avenue, Kingston 20 and Santa Hill, Spaulding in Manchester, turned himself over in the presence of his lawyer on Tuesday.
Reports by the Hunts Bay Police are that about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, the District Constable and her husband were at home when an argument developed between them.
It is further reported that, the husband armed himself with a machete which he used to chop his wife to death.
Whyte then fled the scene.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Edwards-Whyte was discovered in a pool of blood with multiple chop wounds.
She was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
