A man who raped two female tourists at gunpoint, at a popular resort in Montego Bay, St James on Thursday night, September 28, is now in police custody.
The accused was apprehended after he reportedly turned up at a hospital in another parish, seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
He has been identified as Demar Scott, a trainee Entertainment Coordinator, employed to the Reggae Riu Hotel in Rosehall and who provided conflicting addresses, for Exchange in Ocho Rios, St Ann and Comfort District in Williamsfield, Manchester.
Reports by the police are that about 11:15 p.m. on Thursday night, Scott who has been employed to the resort on Tuesday, broke into a room occupied by a male visitor and stole his licensed firearm.
Scott then went to the room occupied by the two American visitors and held them at gunpoint.
He then forcefully had sex with them, while holding them at gunpoint.
While performing his hideous act, the firearm fell from his hand and it was picked up by one of the victims who fired two shots in his direction.
Scott ran from the room and jumped from the balcony and escaped in bushes surrounding the compound.
The female raised an alarm and the police were summoned by the hotel management.
Upon arrival, both victims made a report and also handed over a Glock pistol, loaded with sixteen live rounds to the police.
