Jamaica News, Hanover: A tyre man, who has been identified as Bernardo Wood and a security employed to the Great River Water Treatment Plant in Great River, Hanover, were both admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in critical conditions on Wednesday night, following their involvements in a three-vehicular collision which occurred along the Round Hill main road.
Reports are that shortly after 8:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 30, Wood was driving a Nissan Sunny motorcar, with the security guard as a passenger, from the directions of Great River towards Hopewell.
It is reported that Wood was traveling at maximum speed, in wet slippery conditions, when on reaching the vicinity of the Round Hill Hotel main gate, he lost control of the vehicle which collided head-on with a Honda Odyssey motorcar, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The Honda then spun and crashed into a Nissan Tida motorcar, which was also traveling from the directions of Hopewell.
The Sunny motorcar in which both men were traveling, then crashed into the retaining rail and burst in two.
Passing motorists and officers attached to the Sandy Bay Police Station, assisted in removing both men from the two halves of the mangled wreckage. They were both rushed to hospital, where Wood was admitted in critical condition and the security guard in an unconscious state.
