A 28-year-old, bike taxi operator is now dead, and another admitted to the Savannah la mar hospital in serious condition, following their involvements in a three motorcycle collision which occurred along a section of Salmon Point main road, in the parish of Westmoreland
Dead is Michael Earl, who resides at Little Bay district, also in Westmoreland.
The Westmoreland police reported that about 5:30 pm, Earl and other bike taxi operator, were travelling on two separate motorcycles along the Salmon Point main road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, Earl lost control of the motorcycle which collided into another motorcycle, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The other motorcycle rider who was travelling behind Earl, then collided into both crashed motorcycle.
All three riders sustained injuries to their upper bodies, as they and their motorbikes landed in a dismantled heap along the roadway.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival Earl and one of the riders were rushed to the hospital, where Earl was pronounced dead, and the other rider admitted in serious but stable condition.
The third rider escaped unhurt.
Since the start of this year, a total of 37 persons have lost their lives in 30 separate traffic accident, throughout the parish of Westmoreland.
