Jamaica News: It was a raining Hero’s Weekend in the community of Lambs River,however that didn’t stop the Lambs River Gold Cup from taking place as matches played on Sunday and Monday.
Sunday’s action action got underway in rainy conditions between Police and Morning Glory in a game that saw five goals in a thrilling encounter which the Police came from behind to win 3-2.
The other game was between Daaksyde and rivals Ramsey Corner in which Daaksyde won 1-0 to claim all three points with a well taken goal through captain Kenroy Rowe.
Monday’s games started in light rain as well between Bronx and Arrow Nation which didn’t produce much excitement and ended in a 0-0 scoreline, the other game though between host Arawak Camp and Platinum Strikers had end to end and rough actions saw Platinum Strikers ran out 2-0 winners to move to six points and are the first qualifiers for the Mid-Season semi finals.
Next Sunday’s game will see a long standing rivalry renew when Bronx and Daaksyde go head to head starting at 3 o’clock after which Platinum Strikers will face off with Police starting 4 o’clock.
