Heavy Security Presence in Mountain View Avenue after Gang Flare-up

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A large contingency of joint military patrols has been deployed in the Mountain View Avenue area, following a gang flare-up which took place on Friday morning, May 25, 2018.

The Mountain View Avenue police have reported that as early as 2:00 a.m. on Friday, they were alerted to heavy gunfire being fired in the area.

The lawmen also reported that, they have also gotten reports of a number of armed men trading bullets at a section of the area known as Orville Road.

They are now saying that this morning’s flare-up is part of an ongoing gang warfare between men from Mountain View and other surrounding communities.

The police also reported that, a number of searches are now being carried out in the area and the security forces will maintain a strong presence until calm is restored to the area.
