Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Detectives attached to the Lucea and Sandy Bay police departments, are now in search of two men, who they say are involved in the shooting death of a man, as well as, the shooting and wounding of a female, during a daylight shooting incident which took place in Cold Spring, Hanover, on Thursday morning, April 4.
The lawmen say they are not prepared to release any names at this time, but both men are being sought for the murder of 30-year-old Kemoy Russell of Top Cold Spring. The police also say they cannot release the name of the female who was shot and injured, but she is currently still at hospital in serious condition.
Reports are that, shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Russell left his home in Top Cold Spring and dropped off his son at the Cold Spring Basic School, in the vicinity of the Cold Spring square.
While in the process of returning home, he was ambushed by a group of armed men, who opened fire hitting him multiple times. Russell ran and was chased by the gunmen, then later collapsed inside a teacher’s yard.
A female who was also at the location was shot by a stray bullet, which reportedly caused damages to her mouth.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, both victims were rushed to hospital, where Russell was pronounced dead and the female admitted in serious condition.
In the meanwhile, the police have reported that this latest killing took place in the spate of three other murders, at separate locations around the parish, but they are convinced that this latest shooting was an act of reprisal.
