Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: A man who hails from Cousins Cove in the parish of Hanover was sentenced to five years hard labour in prison on Friday, June 15, after pleading guilty to manslaughter charges in the Hanover Circuit Court.
The accused has been identified as Oclay Hoffstead, and he was originally facing charges of murder.
The Lucea Police have reported that about 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015, residents residing at Cousins Cove in Lucea, made a report after hearing several gunshots being fired in the area.

A patrol unit drove to a section of Cousins Cove in the vicinity of the Cousins Cove All Age School where they stumbled upon the body of the victim Andre English.
The wounded man was transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Hoffstead was arrested and charged in connection with the murder on March 1st, 2017 and he later gave a statement to the police confessing to the murder. Upon making several appearances in court, he was guided by his lawyer to take a manslaughter plea.
