Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Hanover Cop Charged – The Hanover policeman who was recently charged for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl, at the Lucea Police Headquarters holding area, was remanded into custody when he appeared in the Hanover Parish Court on Friday, July 5.
The accused, 22-year-old Constable Akeil Maxwell, was remanded into custody, pending the outcome of a DNA testing result.
He is to return to court tomorrow, where the result is expected to be presented.
Reports are that on June 20, the alleged victim was being held in a holding area, at the Lucea Police Headquarters, when Constable Maxwell allegedly went inside the holding area and had sex with her.
The matter was reported to other officers at the station, and the Constable was taken into custody and later charged.
